Like a Moth to a Flame

I was at my darkest,  you saw my light.
The closer you came,  my lumens grew bright.
I was flailing, spinning in a cyclone.
Your fingers plucked me out and brought me home.

I was walking in-place against a wall
Your kindness was a welcome pivot-call.
Without trespassing you probed and explored
An angel sent from heaven, thank you Lord.

I set up roadblocks, landmines, and decoys
You marched through and didn't fall for my ploys.
You refused to leave, like a moth to a flame
I' m still not sure what you saw, glad you came.

You tore me down mentally, then rebuilt.
Then relit my flame without any guilt.

I Do...

Marry me at the Castle of Versaille,
Where our love will hold hands and say I Do.
Then, it will ripple higher than the sky
And through the centuries our love will stay new.

All night dancing at the Biltmore Estate,
Adorning me with  your love and desire.
It is truly a gift how we relate,
And your pure presence, I will never tire.

When I break, you will hold me til I heal,
I will support you and not be jealous.
When you're weak I will pray, get down and kneel
And with your heart, I will not be careless.

I have been searching my whole life for you,
It's you. Will you marry me?  Yes...I do.

Addiction

I am so into you.
You absolutely amaze me!
You light up every room you enter.
I get sick at the thought of you leaving.
You are brilliant!
I'm in awe.
I am your shadow, or are you mine?
We are so connected that at times I can't tell.
Wow, how did you know that about me?
I can't get enough of  you.
Tell me more about me.
I become nauseous at the thought of releasing  your hand.
Don't leave.
Stand closer.
Closer.

I have become blind.
All I see is myself.
You are so harmful.
Destructive.
It is time to release my addiction,
And pulverize the path that leads me to you.
To stop this pattern... wherever I go, you go...you go, I go...
It is time to let go...

Goodbye ego.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject.

Is the ego good or bad?
Do you cultivate, nurture, and protect yours?
Or do you try to stifle and ignore it?

Insufficient

When I say I love you...

It does not mean a box of chocolates, or long stem roses.
It does not mean an heirloom ring, or sexy poses.

It is not three words, carelessly strung together,
without weight, like a feather.

Or exhaled air formed into syllables, meaningless.
Sounds good to the ears, but the heart, feeling less.

When I say I love you...

It means I am concerned about your soul,
Not just certain traits, but your whole.

That I know you will make mistakes,
I don't expect perfection.
That I will bring mercy and grace to our covenant,
along with protection.

It means I anticipate your needs
and move with admiration and emotion.
To remedy your lack-of, desire-to, or emptiness,
with limitless devotion.

To say I love you with just my words, is simply...insufficient.

Love is...

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.
It is not rude,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

Top 5 Things I've Learned From Networkers ~ The Bad Ones

The Network

Network [net-wurk] n. - system of connections
For the purpose of this post a networker is an anyone who attempts to connect.

Each one of these points can easily be a single blogging subject but here is a summary what I have learned over the last nine months:

1. The 'networker' is everywhere - ALL the time.
It's one thing to have a presence but there is such thing as overkill too. You want to be accessible without being a turn off.

2. Everything is automated.
Hello? Is anyone there?  There is a time and place for automation.  Used correctly it can be a valuable and time-saving tool.

3. Do As I Say....Not As I Do.
Not all practice what they preach.

4. Me, Me, Me Syndrome.
It's ALL about them.  How about sharing a new concept, or idea. Have a guest blogger that doesn't write about you. Share other people's content. Collaborate.

5. They are happy or positive all the time.
I am all about inspiration and motivation. But share with us a struggle or challenge. It just is another way to show your human side and as a result it cultivates trust.
